The APEF was happy to support the recent and enriching artist-in-residence program featuring the enchanting work of Geneva’s own Laura Thiong-Toye.
This residence was an important part of the Institut Florimont’s Saison Culturelle for 2024-2025.
Florimont students had the opportunity to explore themes like still life under Laura’s guidance. At the ceremony on Thursday evening, Giacomo, Priam, and Julie, three students shared their texts they had written inspired by the art. The art, the writing, and the presentation were impressive.
The exhibition is now on display in the heart of the school. A special highlight was the unveiling of Laura’s new, original piece created for Institut Florimont. The artworks have given a fresh feeling to this important and much used space in the school, infusing it with creativity.
Supporting initiatives like this, which extend learning beyond the classroom, is a key focus for APEF.
