Message from Brother Dimitri, new chaplain at the institut

I am Brother Dimitri, a Missionary of St. Francis de Sales and the new chaplain at Institut Florimont. It is a true pleasure to join this wonderful school community and to be able to support both the students and staff.

Before embracing religious life, I gained professional experience in the national police force and later in accounting. Beyond these experiences, it was through my involvement as an altar server, a scout, and my parish commitments (baptism preparation, catechesis) that I was guided toward my vocation. These opportunities allowed me to work in educational and spiritual settings, supporting young people on their life journeys, helping them navigate challenges, and find deeper meaning in their daily lives.

As a chaplain, my mission is to foster dialogue, active listening, and understanding while bringing a spiritual and human dimension to the various initiatives within the school.

I hope to be a resource for both students and staff, particularly in times when they seek spiritual guidance or simply a space to share their concerns.

I am delighted to contribute in my own way to the life of the school.

With my warmest regards,
Brother Dimitri

Chaplaincy Activities – January-February:

During chaplaincy meetings (6ème, 5ème, and 4ème grade), we explored how the Word of God can serve as a guide in our lives, bringing light and hope along our journey. The students also reflected on the theme of “kindness”—following in the footsteps of Jesus, we are all called to care for others because each person is precious in the eyes of God.

On Saturday, February 15th, twelve students from Florimont received the sacrament of Confirmation in the Florimont Chapel. It was a moment of profound unity and communion among the confirmands. Father Thierry Schelling, who led the celebration, created a welcoming and prayerful atmosphere, incorporating an Eucharistic prayer in multiple languages.

24 young students in 3ème have been preparing since October 2024 to receive the sacrament of confirmation in 2026.
